Hello, I'm

About Me
An engineer bridging hands-on work, digital transformation, and people.
My journey started in precision engineering and quality assurance. These disciplines are grounded in material science and strict standards. But the real spark happened at ARTC when a colleague introduced me to the terminal: "docker ps", "docker compose up". That simple window into the command line ignited a curiosity that drives me today.
Since then, I have embarked on a self-taught journey from Python to modern web stacks like React, Bun, and Elysia. I believe we are entering "Industrial 5.0", where Generative AI doesn't replace us but empowers us to build tools we never thought possible. I don't just write code; I bridge the gap between hands-on engineering and digital transformation, building systems that solve real problems quietly in the background.
At my core, I believe engineering isn't about job titles. It is about solving problems with what you have, learning fast, and helping others do their jobs better. I am still growing, but I aim to be someone who connects hands-on work, digital tools, and people.
Outside of work, I am a husband and a new father. This role reminds me that responsibility isn't just about career progress. It is about being present for the people who depend on you.
Experience
My professional journey in engineering and manufacturing.
Supporting engineering development in the Additive Technology Industrialisation team. Role spans hands-on lab work, process innovation, and building digital tools to enhance research efficiency.
- Operating metal additive manufacturing systems (SLM/LPBF), post-processing, and preparing samples for research and industry projects
- Performing mechanical testing (tensile, hardness) and optical characterisation using microscopy and porosity analysis
- Running equipment maintenance, diagnostics, and coordinating with OEM vendors for million-dollar AM systems
- Planning machine utilisation, maintaining lab quality standards, and ensuring safe daily operations
- Supporting PhD researchers and scientists in process development, experiment setup, and materials characterisation
- Analysing engineering data and translating results into actionable workflows and process improvements
- Building internal tools and automation for data handling, inventory tracking, and lab documentation
- Contributing to digital manufacturing initiatives to improve lab efficiency and reduce manual overhead
- Currently serving as Metallurgical Lab IC (previously Chemical Lab & Powder IC), ensuring safety compliance and operational readiness
- Active member of SIMTech & ARTC Recreational Club (2nd Year); organized the Company Staff Appreciation Night (D&D) for nearly 600 staff
Progressed from QA Technical Specialist → Acting QA Engineer → QA Engineer over 2.5 years. Supervised day-to-day QA operations across production sites, leading quality inspectors and driving continuous improvement initiatives in a high-volume injection moulding environment.
- Supervised day-to-day QA operations at production sites, ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements
- Led and mentored a team of quality inspectors to meet departmental quality and safety objectives
- Handled customer complaints, quality investigations, and root cause analysis with engineering teams
- Early involvement in product development to define internal specifications and inspection plans
- Implemented and maintained ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 quality management systems
- Managed timely closure of CAPA, NCIR investigations, and deviation reports
- Prepared inspection plans, work instructions, and quality documentation for new product launches
- Tracked and analysed quality KPIs for continuous improvement initiatives
- Conducted machine troubleshooting (online/offline) and prepared autopsy reports for customer use
Served as an Automotive Technician Specialist during active National Service (2017 to 2019). Currently serving as Company Sergeant Major (CSM) in reservist, demonstrating continuous leadership and contribution to national defence.
- Leading company level operations as Company Sergeant Major (CSM)
- Completed Logistic Senior Supervisor Leadership Course (LSSLC)
- Vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting during active NS
- Team coordination, mentoring, and workplace safety
Industrial attachment focusing on CAD design and quality assurance processes.
- Performed Computer-Aided Design (CAD) based on various customer requirements
- Assisted Quality Assurance Team to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements
- Implemented Technical, Quality Control Inspection, and Process Management Plan reports
